WE read in the Bolton Evening News a few weeks ago that Cllr Harkin of Bolton Council stated that public safety and speed calming was his priority.
Well, Cllr Harkin, come and sit on Dicconson Lane for a day or two and watch some of the cars and 44 ton HGVs thundering past the cottages at which the footpath is no more than four-foot wide. Heaven forbid if a pensioner stumbles on this narrow footpath and falls into the road.
On Saturday night, three cars were chasing each other, and they had to be doing at least 60-70mph.
So, once again, come on, Bolton Council and Cllr Wilkinson, get to grips with this deteriorating problem and do something now before we have another fatal accident.
