BOLTON councillors look and learn.
I have an extract of a map of the Palatine of Lancashire described and divided into hundreds, as was the custom then, used by all of Britain dated 1610. It says BOLTON, not Bolton-le-moors, 1610
Get it? 1610 -- that precedes your 1800s that you seem pre-occupied with.
Today is 2004 and on all British and world maps it will say "Bolton".
If anything needs changing it is you lot.
I for one am not ashamed of the fact that our forefathers were poor, mill slaves for the rich. It is these people that made this town what it was and is today.
This is where our culture comes from, banding together in little communities, living and fighting for all they were worth.
You should be ashamed.
