THE head of a Bury nursery has been named as an architectural design champion for her work in creating the country's first "super nursery".
Clare Barker, headteacher at Hoyle Early Years Centre, received the award for helping to create a better environment for the nursery's children.
The Chesham Fold Road nursery was reopened last November after a £700,000 building programme funded by the Early Excellence Programme and the Neighbourhood Nurseries initiative.
She received the award from the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.
