THEATREGOERS will be able to enjoy the creative work of disabled young people when they visit the Bolton Octagon this month.

A showcase of imaginative and innovative art pieces has opened in the William Bar, which will be on display until January 23.

The exhibition of paintings, prints, canvas work, batique and mixed media has been created by young people from across Bolton aged 16 to 25. The artwork celebrates the European Year of Disabled People 2003 and was organised by Bolton Connexions.

A range of groups were involved in project, including the Generation Access Project and Abacus.

Cllr Laurie Williamson, Bolton Council's executive member for culture, said: "There were 50 to 60 people involved in the exhibition and it is well worth a visit."
