POLICE have appealed for help in tracing a man wanted for questioning in connection with a raid at a jewellers.
A man walked into Tabia Jewellers in St Helen's Road, Daubhill, and asked staff if he could look at jewellery.
Police said he stole a number of items as staff were distracted and then fled. He escaped with a gold bracelet, chains and earrings worth more than £1,000.
The man is described as Asian, 5ft 10ins tall, aged around 25 to 30, slim with short black hair and a black moustache. He spoke with a Bolton accent and was wearing a black jacket with white stripes down the sleeves.
The suspect was captured by in-store CCTV cameras and police have released an image in the hope someone will be able to put a name to his face. Sgt Bill Crittenden said: "We would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who knows who he is. They can speak to us in confidence."
