MATT Jones produced Horwich Cycling Club's best performance in the National Cyclo-Cross Championships in Birmingham.
He finished a more than creditable fourth in the under-14s race in the championships, which were held at the city's Sutton Park.

In the over 50s category, Dave Leyland finished in the top ten when he came home in eighth place.
In the men's elite section, Mark Leyland finished 36th after being held up by a puncture, and Dave Headon was 55th.
Sophie Gore finished third in the under-12s race, while her sister Clare came in sixth.
