Blackrod Town 1 Wyre Villa 0: LEE Powell's second-half winner saw Blackrod through to the semi-finals of the Richardson Cup.
Powell headed in Mark Callow's free kick to avenge Blackrod's league defeat at the hands of Wyre Villa seven days earlier.
With first-choice striking partnership Chris Tonge and Mark Height available, Town knew they had a good chance of winning the quarter-final.
Powell marshalled the defence superbly as last week's mishaps were forgotten and replaced by total concentration on the job in hand.
After going in front, Blackrod pressed forward in search of a second goal. Chris Tonge's lobbed effort found the net, but was disallowed for offside.
David Sutch was outstanding in midfield for Blackrod, as they won to join Charnock Richard, Freckleton and last season's cup winners Eagley in the semi-final draw.
