A MAN arrested in Bolton in connection with alleged terrorism offences in Belfast was still being questioned by detectives today.
William Woods, believed to be a member of the Ulster Defence Association, was arrested at an address in Heaton yesterday morning after the discovery of ammunition, guns and other items at a house in Belfast.
The 35-year-old loyalist was arrested under the Terrorism Act by Bolton detectives on behalf of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
He was taken to an unnamed police station in Greater Manchester where he is still being held.
The arrest came as a result of follow-up searches after the death of a man in Belfast.
Another man is facing a murder charge.
It is believed that Woods was part of a group of loyalists who fled to Bolton in February to escape loyalist in-fighting in Belfast.
The 50-strong group included Gina Adair, wife of jailed UDA boss Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair.
