ALTHOUGH I agree with "Parking Paddy Victim" (Bolton Evening News, Saturday, Jan 17) that some residents think they own the street, I would remind him and other car owners that pavements are for pedestrians.
On any match day, the side roads adjacent to Claypool Road have cars and vans parked fully on the pavement on either side of the road, especially Cedar Avenue, thus restricting the passage of pedestrians who have to walk in the middle of the road.
If I were to walk in the middle of the road at any other time, I would no doubt be subjected to car horn hootings and abuse
from the same irate car owners who are guilty of this indiscriminate parking (possibly from "Parking Paddy Victim" himself).
