IT is reassuring to know there are such caring members of the general public.
While out collecting her pension from Hulton Lane/Wigan Road post office on Wednesday morning, January 14, our mum collapsed on the pavement.
We have been able to personally thank Barbara who works in the post office for her prompt and compassionate assistance. However, we are unable to personally thank three passers-by - two gentleman and, in particular, a young lady - who came to help. They cared for mum until the ambulance arrived.
Although mum sadly died, it has been a great comfort to learn she was shown such compassion by complete strangers and she was not alone.
Our grateful thanks go out to you all.
Thank you also to the ambulance crew and the Accident and Emergency Unit at Royal Bolton Hospital for their valiant efforts to save mum's life.
