A MULTI-MILLION pound facelift for Bury town centre has been given the go-ahead.
The redevelopment of The Rock area of the town centre, which could cost £75 million, has been approved by the council's planning committee
Early plans for The Rock triangle include a tree-lined public area surrounded by shops, flats and outdoor cafes.
A bingo hall could also be included in proposals to transform the 5.3 hectare slice of land between The Rock, Rochdale Road, Moorgate retail park and the town's First Bus depot.
The site would retain features such as the Bury United Reformed Church and Minden Medical Centre with its adjacent gardens.
