QUOTE from Bolton Evening news, December 20, "Christmas trees will be collected between January 5 and 9 if they are left with wheelie bins".
What went wrong? No trees were collected in this part of Bolton.
In previous years, trees could be recycled by Bolton Metro at certain times in Moss Bank Park car park, though it was best to arrive early in case the service finished before the advertised time. Why was this service not provided this year? It must have been cheaper than the promised door-to-door collection.
Were too many trees left with the bins? Were the staff not told to collect trees? Most importantly, what's the plan for next Christmas, in view of Bolton Metro's current campaign to extend and increase recycling of waste in Bolton?
Bolton Metro's loss is Barton Grange Garden Centre's gain - and I'm trying not to think about the pollution caused by taking a car journey to dispose of any tree there.
