A MAN was today being questioned by police investigating the murder of father-of-two Philip Noakes, shot dead and buried in a shallow grave behind a church in Worsley.
Police said a 20-year-old man from Salford was arrested in Scotland on suspicion of murder on Wednesday morning.
He was brought back to Manchester and was still being interviewed today.
The decomposed remains of Mr Noakes, aged 30, of Pendleton, Salford, were found partially buried behind St Marks Vicarage, Walkden Road, Worsley, on Sunday, December 28. A post mortem examination confirmed he died from a single gunshot wound.
