BOLTON will be the first town in the country to provide free internet kiosks.
It is part of Access Bolton - a new scheme to make contacting Bolton Council and getting information about its services easier.
From next week, most residents will be within a 10-minute walk of an internet kiosk offering free access to the council's and other websites - including the Bolton Evening News.
In a separate project launched on the same day, people can make a single visit or phone call to Access Bolton's One Stop Shop or Contact Centre to access a range of council information from paying bills to finding out when bins are collected.
Access Bolton will be officially launched on Wednesday, January 28, when the council unveils details of the 40 BT telephone boxes which have been converted into blue internet kiosks.
The purpose built, state-of-the-art One Stop Shop in the town hall will be launched on the same day.
A trailer promoting the new services will be in Victoria Square, Bolton from noon on January 28.
