GREETINGS to all you good people who work for the Citizen and a special hello to my in-laws, Pat and Allan Gore, who live on Brooke Street in Chorley.
We're living over here in Oshawa, Canada (near Toronto) and I want to inform the readers (and Pat and Allan) that this morning my car refused to start.
The reason was that it was minus 24 degrees Celcius, and if we add the windchill effect in, more like minus 35 degrees.
To put that into perspective, exposed skin can freeze in a few minutes. It's cold and makes Chorley's temperatures look positively tropical at this time of year - break out the sun tan lotion and the speedo's readers!
Happy New Year to you and all your readers, thanks for a great website so that we can keep in touch wherever we are on the planet!
Dave and Karen Weldon, Oshawa, Canada.
