A MODEL railway layout will be featured at Farnworth Little Theatre this weekend when The Railway Children is staged.
FLT have chosen an adaptation of the Edith Nesbit novel instead of their usual New Year fantasy.
The adaptation by Dave Simpson retains the original's humour, adventure and the triumph of good over evil.
The play is set in and around a tiny railway station where two sisters and a brother come to terms with life in a new countryside environment.
Nine members of FLT's Youth Group are taking part with several senior theatre members.
Alan Knott who directs says: "The Railway Children has no sex, no violence and no bad language. It is exactly what you would expect - good, old-fashioned, lump in the throat stuff ideal for all the family."
The play opens on Saturday with performances every night the following week.
Requests for tickets, especially group bookings (one free ticket for every 10 booked) should be addressed to: Margaret Knott, 43 New Hays Way, Bradshaw, Bolton, BL2 4AF, including full address and telephone number.
