THE blocking by Bolton planning chiefs of the survival of Westhoughton Cricket Club and Westhoughton Lions in Rugby League came as no surprise.
I could of course list all our green fields already with houses on them, courtesy of Bolton Met. But I'm sure they don't need reminding.
The issue here was all about Westhoughton Cricket Club's and Westhoughton Lions' rugby league future -- a future for the children who are playing rugby at the present time, and for all the children in future years.
Is David Chadwick sure he lives in Owfen (impact on local traffic)? We have been gridlocked for years, and more to come.
What does Harper Green councillor Laurie Williamson know about Westhoughton? And to state it is against Bolton Council policy -- Bolton Council have never had a policy!
