I STAND duly admonished by Cllr Mrs P Howarth, Chairman Planning and Highways Committee, Bolton Metro (January 13), for writing in my letter (December 22) that Bolton Metro "owning playing fields and farmland at Deane Base School, granted themselves planning consent ..."
Councillor P Howarth rightly points out, consent wasn't granted for the playing fields and farmland, but only for the agricultural land previously used by Deane Base School. Eight acres of which being sold for more than £2m. This money being ploughed back into education.
Shall we call it a draw, or is it sackcloth and ashes?
