IVAN Campo is the darling of the Reebok terraces, but now it seems he is also king of the road.
The Bolton Wanderers ace is one of 48 top flight footballers to own a BMW X5 - the top No 1 choice for soccer stars.
But he is not alone in his love of flash cars. For a growing number of Wanderers players are growing accustomed to driving in style.
The BMW X5, a 4x4 costing £36,000, is number one in a Top 10 of cars owned by Premiership footballers compiled in a survey by new men's magazine Nuts. Other owners of the model include Chelsea's Damien Duff and Manchester United's Nicky Butt. In second place is the Range Rover Autobiography, driven by England stars Michael Owen and Sol Campbell.
JayJay Okocha owns a BMW M3, which is worth £42,535, as does Simon Charlton, and it is number seven in the poll. Manchester City's Trevor Sinclair is one of eight other top-flight footballers to own one.
Nuts editor Phil Hilton said: "With Premiership players on such astronomical salaries even the most lowly of players can afford to motor around in cars most of us can only dream of.
"The real surprise is that instead of roaring about in Ferraris and Porsches, they are going for cars more associated with the school run."
