CHORLEY took the final honours of the Bolton Golf Association year but had a much tougher time of it than the 4- scoreline suggests.
Hindley Hall pushed them all the way and Chorley only lifted the annual Jack Taylor Trophy after four of the five matches went to the last hole at Old Links.
Bill Bromilow and Steve Ainscough were the only pairing to record a comfortable win in the Admiral Leasing sponsored event, beating Tim Philbin and Chris McKenna 5&3.
Richard Kilshaw and Andy Tait shared the spoils with Joe Pearson and Lee Davies while Mike Hearn and Callum Naylor beat Nigel and Tony Buckels by just one hole.
The other two games ended 2 up in Chorley's favour with victories for Alan Shield and Eugene O'Regan over Peter Finch and Sean Owen and Martin Senior and Ian Hargreaves over Gilbert Pierce and Nigel Atherton.
