THE numbers of student muggings in Salford have dropped by nearly two thirds following a police campaign.
Officers organised a three month campaign from September to protect young people, many of whom travel from Bolton, from criminals.
There were just 11 robberies and 13 thefts, compared to 28 and 21 respectively over the same period in 2002.
