PUPILS from schools across Bolton took part in a ceremony to remember the thousands slaughtered in genocide atrocities.
To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, children from Green Fold Special School lit candles and there was singing from St Peter's School choir.
Smithills School pupils read poems throughout yesterday's ceremony at Bolton Town Hall, the theme of which was From the Holocaust to Rwanda and Beyond.
The 50-minute event remembered the Holocaust and recent genocides in Rwanda and Bosnia.
Canon Michael Williams said: "We tried to include remembrance for all genocides since the Holocaust. It was a well-attended event."
