BUSINESSES across Greater Manchester are being offered the chance to increase their bottom line in 2004 with free advice.
Action Energy -- the free Government-
backed programme to help business and public-sector organisations become more energy efficient -- has published a New Year starter pack to cut costs in the wake of rising gas and electricity prices.
Companies can make savings of up to 20 per cent on energy bills by making small changes to operations and work practices. The pack is available by calling 0800 585794 or visiting www.actionenergy.org.uk
Greater Manchester's Action Energy adviser, Steve Lang, said: "With gas and electricity prices set to rise, the days of cheap energy are now over for UK business. Energy bills will become a key issue in 2004 if businesses do not start adopting energy-saving measures to protect themselves from spiralling costs."
Organisations can save money simply by adopting low and no-cost energy-saving measures highlighted in the pack.
Action Energy services include offering interest free, Government-backed loans and free surveys of a company's energy usage by an expert.
