TORY councillor Andy Morgan rightly praises Labour-run Bolton Council as being judged as an "excellent" authority by the Independent Audit Commission. (Bolton Evening News, January 26).
At first I thought: "Well done for your honesty, Andy. You have the guts to rise above party politics and give praise where praise is due."
But, unfortunately, this was not the case. Andy concluded his letter by telling the people of Bolton to kick out this Labour-run "excellent" authority, the alternative to "excellent" being the Conservatives.
The only reason he gives for this is that some Tory councils in other areas are doing quite well, thank you very much.
To be honest, I'm not interested in how other councils -- Labour or Tory -- perform. I'm only interested in the Bolton borough and its first-class employees.
Andy almost says it himself, but can't quite make the link. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
