A MAN accused of robbing an 80-year-old woman in her home appeared before magistrates at Bolton on Tuesday.
Michael Peter Hennessey, aged 31, of no fixed address, was accused of aggravated burglary at the home of a 68-year-old man and robbery of an 80-year-old woman on January 24.
Mrs Boyce, a widow, and a grandmother of two who lives on the outskirts of Bolton town centre, suffered serious bruising to her face.
The pensioner was asleep in her council-owned home at about 10pm on Saturday when she was woken by the sound of smashing glass.
No application for bail was made, and he was remanded in custody to appear before Crown Court on February 5.
