PLANS for a seasonal marquee at Tesco in Horwich have been given the thumbs up by town councillors.
Horwich councillors approved the company's proposals to install a marquee to house garden plants and outdoor products on the car park at the Middlebrook superstore.
The marquee will sit across eight parking spaces and will allow the sale of garden plants, shrubs, flowers and gardening equipment through the summer months.
If the application is approved by Bolton Planning Committee, the marquee will be in place between March 1 and October 31 for the next five years.
Councillor John Cronnolley, leader of Horwich Town Council, said: "It's a good idea for summer and because it is only small compared to Tesco itself it doesn't impinge on the restrictions on selling gardening products that cover the rest of Middlebrook."
Measuring 9.15 metres by 9.15 metres, the five metre high
