BLACKROD Town's reserves enjoyed their day in the spotlight, beating BAC/EE Preston 7-1 in the Houston Cup second round on a weekend when the first team had no game.
A goal down after eight minutes, Blackrod drew level on the half-hour with an Andy Morris penalty. In the second half, Morris completed his hat-trick, Carl McKnight scored twice and further goals from Neil Foster and Martin Halliwell saw Blackrod through to meet Tempest United in the last eight.
