THE dangers of substance misuse among teenagers will be the focus of a drugs awareness day this weekend in Great Lever.
The event has been organised by the Respect Counselling service, and features drug awareness workshops, guest speakers and a video presentation on the social issues surrounding substance misuse.
There will also be a DJ on the day who will teach young people DJ skills.
The drugs awareness event takes place on Saturday, from 10am until 4pm, at Sunnyside Community Centre, Moisant Street.
Tony Walton, of Respect Counselling, said: "Over the past few years we have held similar days for parents of sons and daughters who have been harmed by drugs misuse, but this year we're aiming the day at teenagers. What we want to get across to teenagers is that there is help out there. We are here to help."
