ON Saturday, January 17, my daughter-in-law had her car stolen from the drive of her home.
She was taking the children to see their great-grandma. She had the car running to defrost it, and went in the house to get her youngest son in the car seat to put him in the car. When she came out, it had been stolen.
The thief had the car for nearly a week.
Last Friday night my son got a phone call from the police to say they had found the car, it had been in a crash, the driver had run off.
So, thanks to this person, they are now in debt to the tune of a few thousand pounds because the insurance will not pay up.
The car is a write-off and, to add insult to injury, there was a new pushchair in the boot which has now gone, which he's probably sold.
Do not leave your cars unattended, and read every bit of print on your insurance.
They have also got to pay £300 for it being taken from the crash site, also £12 a day for every day it's at the recovery garage.
