DRIVERS returning to their cars had a shock to see they had slid sideways into each other as the ice melted under their wheels

The bizarre incident happened yesterday afternoon in a car park off Bank Street, Bolton.

One motorist said: "I couldn't believe it. I never would have thought the cars could have slid sideways."

Car park owner Tony Cunningham said: "I did a walkround at 1pm and noticed two cars had slid.

"Then I saw lots of others had done the same. In the five years I've been here I've never seen anything like it.

"The cars must have been parked on ice and when it melted they slid. There isn't any real damage to the cars but there were some shocked owners."
