AN MP has sent his congratulations to a Chorley High School on securing Specialist Science Status.
Lindsay Hoyle, MP for Chorley, is delighted that the Secretary of State for Education has awarded Albany High School the prestigious status.
The secondary school, in Bolton Road, teaches many children from the Adlington and Anderton areas.
Mr Hoyle said: "I am thrilled that the school has been successful in its application for special status. Congratulations must go to Mr Higgs, the headteacher, and all the staff, governors and parents.
"Albany continues to go from strength to strength and I have no doubt that the special science status will help attract more pupils, ensure we have first-class science education and benefit the community as a whole."
