A FREE-RANGE egg farm for 8,000 birds is set to be built on farm land in Over Hulton.
The scheme, proposed by farm owner David Proudlove, would see the demolition of buildings on the land, and the erection of an agricultural property to house the birds on White Gate Farm at St Helens Road. There have been seven letters of objection.
to the scheme, on the grounds of risk of vermin, disease and the smell and noise associated with the activity.
But there were also letters of support highlighting the progress in farming methods and the improvement on existing dilapidated buildings.
