BANK workers swapped the office for the doghouse when they mucked in to help tidy up a Bolton animal centre.
Ten members of staff from Barclay's corporate banking centre in Bolton picked up paint brushes to help give Bolton Destitute Animal Centre, on Northolt Drive, Great Lever, a face lift.
They spent the day re-painting tired-looking dog kennels which house some of the hundreds of animals brought in to the centre for care each year, and helped to retile part of the building's reception area. Team leader Jackie Fairbank said: "The company has a volunteer scheme where they will let us go out of the office for a day and give us £500 to help with a project in the community. Topps Tiles also donated some tiles for the project.
"We chose the animal shelter because it's a local charity and something that's close to my heart because it's where I got my cat from."
