THE move by Redrow to go down the route of sealed bids is, in my opinion, extremely cynical.

However, I also feel it may backfire.

I viewed the properties on Sunday, along with many others, and the general mutterings were that the properties were simply not worth even the minimum price being asked.

Time will tell if they were correct, but I certainly would not pay a minimum of £290,000 for a house with no private garden, not detached and only three bedrooms.

This is Horwich, not the Cotswolds.
