PUPILS at St Simon and St Jude's Primary School have taken part in a fitness workshop as part of a special week devoted to healthy living.

Children at the Great Lever primary school have been learning how to lead healthy lives, physically, mentally and socially.

There have been teamwork activities such as a healthy body race, they have been learning about issues such as road safety and hygiene by watching videos and having literacy lessons warning about the dangers of drugs.

Youngsters have also learned about dental health, how to stay safe in the sun and have taken part in workshops with the police and fire brigade.

There was even the chance to take part in a walkabout session with Bolton Wanderer's mascot Lofty the Lion.

And children were taught about what makes a friend with a puppet workshop.
