I WAS heartened to read in the Bolton Evening News on July 6, about the student mock elections in North-west schools and colleges, when the Green Party received a large vote among pupils.

These are the voters of the future, and it gives me hope for the future.

The only problem I had with the article is that it described the Green Party as single issue. This is not the case.

While it is true we have coherent policies on the environment, we stand for social justice in favour of a better health service, improved pensions and the scrapping of the Council Tax.

We were, right from the beginning, the only political party opposed to the Bush/Blair unjust war with Iraq.
