I SPENT the day in your lovely town last week, and my husband and friends were in your paper, (folks from Bolton, USA)
We live in Bolton, Massachusetts, and have friends in Bolton, England.
While shopping in the mall, I left my jacket in a coffee shop. I went back to get it but it was gone. My friends were distressed, but it was only a jacket!
Several days later, my friend, Barbara Smyth, returned to the mall and asked about my jacket. Someone had handed it in, and the British coins I had collected for a friend were still in the pocket!
When something like this happens, it is a story that needs to be told. We all have our share of bad news.
Thank you to whoever turned in my jacket, and thank you Bolton. You are an honest town, and I am honoured to have been a part of you, even if for only a day.
