I WOULD like to congratulate Bolton Council's Highways Department on having one of the best roadside poisonous ragwort plant displays in the country.
I travel all over the UK in my job and can honestly say in no other area can you see as much of the "yellow peril" (as it is also known, as there is in Bolton.
We have yellow daffodils in May, then yellow ragwort in their thousands from June until the end of August. Could I also suggest the council plant some roadside yellow winter pansies to see us through the winter months?
Maybe this has been planned over the years with the Liberals winning at the Town Hall - after all, their colour is yellow.
So, marks out of 10 - 10 for the Highways Department for assisting in the spread of one of the most poisonous plants, which is a killer to most animals and just as poisonous to humans if it should get into the food chain through farmed wheat and barley crops.
