A 39-year-old man from Bolton has been disqualified from driving for 12 months after being found guilty of two motoring offences at court.
Gerald Atherton, from Dorchester Avenue, Breightmet, pleaded guilty at Bolton Magistrates' Court to driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance. The court heard that Atherton was driving along Thicketford Road, Bolton, last Tuesday with his friend when stopped by police who found that Atherton did not have a provisional licence. In addition to the ban he was ordered to undertake a 40 hour community punishment order, and to pay £20 costs.
