A TEENAGER has been banned from driving after he was convicted of drink driving on his Peugot scooter.

Andrew Waring, aged 18, of Fernleigh, Chorley New Road, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Bolton Magistrates Court on Thursday. He was banned for 12 months, fined £100 and ordered to pay £20 costs.

Waring was stopped and breathalysed by police after driving his Peugeot scooter in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The court heard that Waring had drunk three cans of lager and was one-and-a-half times over the limit.
