A TEACHER has won £2,500 towards financing a school project after impressing judges in a national competition.
Adrian Waltho, who has taught science at Westhoughton High School for 26 years, won the Heinemann Inspiration Challenge award for a project that will allow pupils to study combustion through work with the fire brigade.
He hopes to buy equipment for the scheme.
He said: "I am delighted to have been successful in wining the Inspiration Challenge. The prize money will help no end in financing the specialist equipment and expertise needed in this project, as well as covering the cost of a video to record the students' experiences."
