I HAVE had an email from Lorraine Vickery in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, who has discovered that she has roots in Bolton.
Lorraine's father died when he was 44 and she never knew him.
About 10 years she discovered that she was English on her father's side and she is now trying to trace as much information as she can about the family she never knew - and the town of Bolton.
"My goal is to write about my life and tell my grandchildren all about where their roots are," Lorraine says.
She has discovered that her grandfather, Frederick Vickery, was born in Bolton on September 27, 1879.
His father, Benjamin Vickery, was born in 1856 and was a sadler and harness-maker in Bolton. He married Sarah Ann Jones.
"Maybe there is someone who remembers my family," Lorraine writes.
Her address is 605 261-8th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, R7A 6K6, and her telephone number is (204) 571-6331.
