FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from a house after he left food on his cooker before he went to bed.
Firemen and police officers used a door ram to force their way inside the house on Corring Way, Hall i' th' Wood, and led the man to safety.
Three engines attended the scene at 10.18pm on Sunday after a pan was left unattended on the cooker in the kitchen.
A neighbour called the fire service when the man, who is in his 50s, slept through his smoke alarm. No damage was caused to the property. Breathing apparatus was on hand but the man refused hospital treatment.
