A CLINIC which treats patients with severe acne using hi-tech laser equipment, is set to expand.
Laserase, which is based in the Royal Bolton Hospital, has applied for planning permission to build a single-storey clinic, along with office space, on land opposite Highfield Ambulance Station on Minerva Road, Farnworth.
The move would free up hospital space in the orthopaedic outpatients clinic, where the company is currently based.
Managing director Denise Leslie said: "At the moment we use the clinic in the evenings and at weekends when the orthopaedic clinic is not in use. We have to move about sensitive laser equipment that would be better staying in one space. Although we are a private company, we are treating more and more NHS patients so it would be useful to stay on the hospital site."
