A FATHER and son cycled from Manchester to Blackpool to raise money for the Christie's Against Cancer appeal.
Craig Cohen, aged 39, and his 11-year-old son, Mark, who attends Tyldesley Primary School, took to the roads to cycle for six hours on a 1950s tandem and managed to raise £400.
They set off from Manchester's Albert Square with thousands of other cyclists.
Mr Cohen, of Blandford Close, Tyldesley, has been waiting for years to jump on the tandem after his partner, Sharon, refused to ride it.
He said: "I bought the old tandem a few years ago but Sharon wouldn't get on it so I've been waiting for Mark to grow up so he can ride it."
"I'm going to have a mirror put on the front of the bike so I can check Mark is pedalling!
"We have been training for a few weeks but we are not going to win it, we just want to be a part of it."
