HUNDREDS of people in Bolton put on their trainers to raise thousands of pounds for Sport Relief.
More than 400 competitors completed a mile in a variety of ways on Saturday for the BBC charity event.
People dribbled footballs and basketballs, cycled, walked, ran and even rowed the distance. Many opted to walk the mile with a leisurely stroll through Queens Park.
The more energetic did a circuit of the park from the Bolton Lads and Girls Club in Spa Road, with club chief executive Jeremy Glover completing the course in just under seven minutes, and a mystery runner doing five minutes 20 seconds.
The event was kicked off by Wanderers mascot Lofty the Lion, who lead a mass warm-up.
After the event, Mr Glover said the event had been a huge success.
"It was a great day with everyone smiling and doing what they could to raise money for BBC Sport Relief," he said. "I would like to thank everyone who turned up to support the event."
Mr Glover hopes the club's event will raise £2,000 for underprivileged children in Britain and the rest of the world.
Nationally, Prince William led the way as Sport Relief raised more than £11 million with 81,000 people joining 150 fund raising events throughout the country.
The 22-year-old Prince ran his mile in six minutes 10 seconds as part of a 12-strong team from Clarence House in London.
