A SPECIAL and historic church service will take place on Sunday, July 11.
St Laurence CE and Park Road Methodist churches will share in a service to mark a period to explore how closely they can work together in the future.
The service will begin in St Laurence's at 10am when members of both churches will be present.
At around 10.30am the combined congregation will then walk to Park Road Church where a further act of worship will be held to bring the service to a conclusion.
At national level the archbishops of the Church of England and the president of the Methodist Conference have signed a covenant to explore ways to work together, and this service is being held in Chorley as a result.
