RADIO listeners across the country are to get a real taste of Chorley.
The town's famous Chorley Cakes are to feature in a special BBC Radio 4 programme next month dedicated to the mouth-watering treat loved by so many.
The broadcast will give listeners a chance not just to find out more about the cake, but also the town and its surrounding area.
"It's a Piece of Cake" is on the air at 3.45pm on Friday, August 6. It will feature everything from the history and recipe of the humble Chorley Cake, to the role it plays in local tourism with events such as the Chorley Cake Fair.
Chorley Council's Executive Member for Life and Leisure, Cllr Cath Hoyle, said: "Although the show will be a light-hearted look at a very well known local tradition, it will also be a chance for many more people to find out more about our town, borough and the surrounding region.
"Hopefully, having had a quick sound bite of what we have to offer here, the show will have whet appetites of listeners enough for them to come along and visit us in the future."
