Pride of place went to John Davies who, in a titanic struggle, overcame Paul Rimmer 6-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Baseline rallies were the main feature of the match, with Davies' stronger weight of shot proving the decisive element for his victory.

In the mixed doubles, Paul Nicholson and Yvonne Lancaster were beaten by Vicki Boon and Gareth Davis, despite being ahead in both sets.

Spectators are requested not to park on the Medical Centre car park during the tournament.
