CHILDREN will get the chance to unearth pieces of history this weekend as Bolton marks National Archaeology Weekend.
The event, organised by Bolton Council's Culture Department, will take place at Hall i'th' Wood Museum.
Visitors are invited to take part in various activities including making mosaics, jewellery and Egyptian tablets.
One of the highlights is expected to be the reconstruction of an archaeological dig in which children will be allowed to take part and learn about the historical value of the rocks and fossils.
Visitors can also search the archives and see how Hall i'th' Wood has cha0nged in its 150-year history.
The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm.
All activities are included in the price of admission to the museum.
